Multiple Sindh Matric Exam Papers Were Leaked

The integrity of the examination process is under threat as reports of multiple question papers being leaked surface, marking a new low for Sindh’s matriculation exams.

The cheating mafia appears to have gained ground despite the combined efforts of education boards and authorities, taking advantage of weaknesses and avoiding detection with impunity. The most recent events demonstrate a structural inadequacy to prevent malpractices and preserve the integrity of exams.

The Islamic Studies exam paper was leaked in testing centres all around Khairpur in the Sukkur area, where measures to stop cheating were stepped up. Paper leaks continued even after specialised teams were established to stop them, casting doubt on the efficacy of enforcement actions.

The fact that the cheating gang has resorted to advanced strategies and is using digital channels like WhatsApp to distribute solved papers only serves to heighten the severity of the situation. This concerning pattern has revealed the shortcomings of current security procedures and further damaged trust in the testing system.

In the meantime, the Shaheed Benazirabad Education Board in Nawabshah is facing a dire scenario as the board management is unable to stop the misconduct. Premature distribution caused today’s 10th grade English paper to be leaked, exposing the dishonest syndicate’s callous disdain for morality.

Similarly, the material for the 10th class Pakistan Study test in Larkana was leaked through WhatsApp groups before the exam day. This egregious security lapse emphasises how urgently strong safeguards are needed to protect assessment integrity and preserve academic standards.

The Karachi Education Board, which is already dealing with similar issues, suffered yet another blow when the required English paper for the tenth grade was leaked online. The frequency with which these instances occur highlights the severity of the issue and the urgent requirement for a thorough revision of examination procedures.
