Punjab Education Department prioritizes gender equality and focuses more on transgender empowerment

Obaidullah Khokhar, the secretary of the South Punjab School Education Department (S E D), has emphasized the value of transgender education in promoting skill development and uplifting the society on an economic and social level.

When he visited G o v e r n m e n t G i r l’s Comprehensive Higher School, he brought attention to the SED’s continuous efforts to improve the standard of instruction and technical training for transgender people. In an interview with the media, Dr. Khokhar stated that transgender students had received instruction in a variety of subjects, including marketing, computer science, industrial tailoring, beauty parlor skills, and tailoring through collaboration with UNESCO.

The goal of this program is to give them the abilities they need to find work in the contemporary world. He went on to say that transgender pupils had developed a variety of abilities over the previous six months and had proudly displayed their homemade goods at the expo.

The occasion provided a forum for encouraging public acceptance and admiration of their work. The Government Girls Comprehensive Higher Secondary School Principal, Zareen Akhtar, was thanked for her assistance in promoting transgender education.
