Tech Lancer Summit 2.0 Organized by Islamia University Bahawalpur

Tech Lancer Summit 2.0 was organized by the IUB Freelancing Promotion Society, Directorate of Students Affairs, Islamia University Bahawalpur. The summit was attended by students and graduates from across Pakistan, including those from Islamia University Bahawalpur, who have made a name in freelancing.

Dr. Fahim Mushtaq Bajwa, Advisor to the IUB Freelancing Society, while addressing the event, stated that throughout the year, the society organizes workshops and seminars on various technologies to promote freelancing, so that young people can secure their future while contributing to the development of the country and society. He also thanked Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran and Director of Students Affairs Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf for supporting the society’s activities.

Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Online and Distance Education, said that Islamia University Bahawalpur is playing a significant role in teaching and research in information technology through distance education. Dr. Shehzad Ahmad Khalid, Director of Public Relations, mentioned that currently, freelancing exports from the country amount to 3 billion dollars, and the increasing number of young people will significantly boost this figure. The Punjab Government is providing modern facilities for e-business and freelancing in the Lahore Business District. Islamia University Bahawalpur has provided awareness about freelancing and online businesses through initiatives like Digital South Punjab, Tech Nation, E-Job Summit, and the Tech Lancer Summit series. The project of TechPura, through the Punjab Information Technology Board, will also be completed at Islamia University Bahawalpur.

Dr. Adnan Bukhari, Additional Director of Student Societies, said that freelancing is being promoted through the Student Societies Network at Islamia University Bahawalpur. Renowned freelancer Muhammad Tauqeer shed light on the importance and necessity of freelancing in today’s world.

At the conclusion of the Tech Lancer Summit, a grand poetry session (Mushaira) was held. The event was presided over by the famous poet Mr. Ajmal Fareed, with the proceedings conducted by Altaf Malik, Advisor to the IUB Freelancing Promotion Society. Prominent poets from across Pakistan participated in the session, including Dr. Zeeshan Atheer, Azhar Faragh, Tehzeeb Hafi, Muzdham Khan, Zia Mazkur, Ijaz Rafi, Haider Bukhari, Abdullah Zareem, and Mubashir Rehman.
