The first computer scientist from QAU’s first class is honoured by alumni.

Jameel Rasheed, the first computer science graduate and scientist from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad (Class of 1977), was honoured by the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Alumni Founders Group during a formal event held at Preston University in Islamabad.

A pioneer in Pakistani computer science, Jameel Rasheed Sahib has had an impressive career, serving in top positions in both national and international organisations.

He still makes contributions to the international computer community from his current location in Canada. He also has the honour of being Quaidians Sindh’s first elected president in 1991, which demonstrates his unwavering dedication to community development and alumni networking.

In addition to honouring Mr. Rasheed’s remarkable accomplishments, the event brought together renowned Quaid-i-Azam University graduates to celebrate the institution’s common legacy. An unforgettable evening of friendship, memories, and fruitful conversations regarding the future of the alumni network was had by all in attendance.

The QAU Alumni Association Founders Group President, Dr. Abdul Basit, welcomed everyone and expressed sincere appreciation to everyone for their enthusiastic attendance, which greatly enhanced the event.

The participants pledged to make significant and constructive contributions at the individual and group levels, acknowledging the decades-long dedication of QAU graduates to their alma university.
