Punjab Will Resume Its Laptop Programme after Seven Years
The province of Punjab has declared the resuscitation of its laptop programme for university students. This choice was made at a meeting on higher education sector changes that was chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Punjab’s chief minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has directed officials to bring back the laptop programme for schoolchildren. Consequently, after a seven-year break, students from all of the province’s educational institutions will once again benefit from government-provided computers.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif was updated on the difficulties facing higher education during the meeting. She gave the order to open new colleges and institutions in the province’s less developed areas.

CM Maryam was briefed by officials on the advancement of higher education, laptop distribution, and student transportation options.
It was reported to the Chief Minister that there are presently over 650,000 students registered in Punjabi universities, of which 44% are boys and 56% are girls, in both the public and private sectors.
