STEM education is very important” says Inventor of modular lighting sheds in address to SOAR STEM students
On Friday, Gimmy Chu, the global CEO of the massive modular lighting company Nanoleaf, addressed students at SOAR STEM Schools through a video connection from Toronto.
As future STEM Heroes who will change the world with creative and environmentally beneficial inventions, the developer of modular lighting gave a speech to the children to encourage them to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math. Over 100 kids from several campuses of SOAR STEM Schools, the leaders and pioneers of STEM education in Pakistan, listened to Gimmy speak for more than 45 minutes.
He explained to the students that he and two of his closest friends had been STEM students just like them many years before, and that because of their friendship and shared love of STEM education, they were able to launch Nanoleaf, which is currently the top modular lighting company in the world, and change the way people think about and use light.
Gimmy gave the students advice on how to learn about STEM and AI while concentrating on keeping solid relationships with one another. Gimmy gave students a futuristic outlook on the world, predicting that in 20 to 50 years, there will be a large number of professions in mechanical engineering, mathematics, medical research, education, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Gimmy spoke to schoolchildren for the first time ever, and it was an incredible learning opportunity for the SOAR STEM students. A sizable student audience watched the live YouTube stream of the event.
The live event was a part of a series called STEM Heroes, created by SOAR STEM Schools’ Academics department. In this series, notable people from the STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—talk to SOAR STEM students in an effort to inspire and motivate them as they go from being students to becoming ground-breaking innovators.
The SOAR STEM School’s YouTube channel is where you may watch the recorded event for free. Such events are very helpful in raising awareness about futuristic education systems and they should be done regularly.
