Punjab decides against postpone of the Matric Exams Until After Ramadan
The Punjab Education Board has declared that the forthcoming SSC (matriculation) examinations will take place on time and will not be postponed.
The All Pakistan Private Schools Association (APPSA) had earlier asked for a minimum one-month postponement of the exams in a letter addressed to the Secretary of Higher Education and the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab. This letter was written in response to demands from parents and students. APPSA Central President Mian Shabir Ahmad Hashmi had pointed out in his response letter the detrimental consequences that lengthy winter vacations and smog have had on pupils. In addition, he brought up how the extended winter vacation costed pupils valuable study time.
The provincial education authority has stated that there would be no modifications to the exam schedule and that there will not be any delay in the exams. It is important to remember that the SSC exams are set to start on March 1. Additionally, a preliminary date sheet has been provided by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Lahore.
earlier, the KPK board had postponed Matric Exams due to Ramadan.
Concerned officials stated that any form of postponement in the matriculation tests could have an impact on the dates of exams at a higher level.
On the other hand, the annual SSC exam for grades 9 and 10 was postponed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government by more than a month. The initial date of the exam was set for March 14.
