Punjab modified its school schedule ahead of the winter vacations.
LAHORE – Mohsin Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, announced that the province would not prolong its winter break. He did, however, announce a change in the school schedule in recognition of the terrible weather.
On January 10, schools throughout Punjab will resume, albeit with new schedules. Class times for January 10–22 will begin at 9:30 a.m. Naqvi emphasized that, given the current cold weather, it is crucial to dress warmly.
In a message on ‘X,’ the former name for Twitter, Naqvi informed the public of the revised schedule for school openings during this time.
Previously, Punjab’s yearly winter vacation was supposed to start on December 18, 2023, and end on January 1, 2024.
It is important to note that Lahore and other areas of Punjab are going through a very cold wave and things have worsened due to the SMOG and very low air quality index. Fog has been witnessed in areas of northern Punjab including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which a new phenomena for these areas of the province. Parents has requested to increase the winter vacations further but the Government has decided against it.
