Winter Vacations to Conclude on 10th January, 2024
Punjab’s winter break will end on Tuesday, January 9, 2023, and classes will resume on Wednesday, January 10, 2023. Parents are requesting that the Punjabi government extend the winter break in spite of this, noting the continuous cold weather that is affecting the entire province.
On December 30, 2023, the Punjabi government initially extended winter vacations by an extra nine days. The postponement of the January 1, 2024, reopening date for all schools resulted in a new date of January 9, 2024.
Due to the ongoing cold snap, parents are requesting an additional extension for their winter break. Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, responded by making it clear that the provincial government has not yet decided whether to grant another extension.
He said that, depending on the provincial education department’s opinion, the option of extending the winter break might be taken into consideration. The Punjab government has not yet formally announced a holiday extension, and classes are scheduled to resume on January 10, 2024.
