CM Punjab Is Seeking to Bring the Scholarship Program to Balochistan and KP
The Honhaar Scholarship Program was introduced in Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who stated her intention to expand the program to include students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan.
More than 1,200 students received more than Rs 30 million in scholarships from Maryam Nawaz during the scholarship distribution ceremony. “I want to give scholarships to kids in Balochistan and KPK.” I only ask that you honour your parents and make them proud, and that’s all I ask,” she said.
Speaking during the function, the CM underlined that the provincial administration continues to place a high premium on access to contemporary technologies and high-quality education. In the future, she said, pupils would also receive laptops and e-bikes.
Maryam Nawaz earlier gave high-achieving students some wonderful news at the Honhaar Scholarship distribution ceremony at Government College Women’s University Sialkot. She promised that computers will be given to pupils who received grades higher than 65%, saying, “I will personally hand over these laptops to you very soon.”
Although 30,000 Honhaar Scholarships are given out each year, Maryam Nawaz admitted that this is not enough. She directed authorities to raise the sum to 50,000 in the budget for the next year, announcing plans to expand the number of scholarships by 20,000.
