A Lahore grade 2 student excels in the Junior English Olympiad 2024

By earning the Bronze Medal in the prestigious Junior English Olympiad (JEO)-2024, Aamaya Kashif, a Grade 2 student at Sacred Heart Cathedral High School (Girls), Lahore, has made her school, family, and city proud.

Eight-year-old Aamaya conveyed her sincere gratitude to her teachers for their invaluable assistance, which was crucial to her achievement.

The JEO’s organizers, the International Contests Center (ICC), commended Aamaya for her outstanding performance in the November 2024 competition.

The competition tested students’ reading, grammar, and general English skills utilising a paper-based methodology. The test took 50 minutes to finish, and there was a special rule that made it even more difficult to win: three wrong answers were worth one right answer.

Because of her accomplishment, Aamaya has been awarded a position in the Junior English Olympiad’s Global Final, which will be held in Sydney, Australia, from April 13–21, 2025.

In addition to staying in opulent five-star hotels, finalists will take part in an enriching program that includes tours of famous Australian sites like the Royal Botanical Garden, Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and University of Sydney.

Additionally, the program will include educational and cultural outings, like trips to Canberra’s National Arboretum and the Museum of Australian Democracy.

The Junior English Olympiad, or JEO, is what?

The Junior English Olympiad is a prestigious worldwide competition designed to help youngsters improve their English language skills. The Olympiad, which is co-organized by UNICEP and the International Contests Centre (ICC), gives competitors the tools they need to succeed in school and the workplace, including everyday literacy, critical thinking, and effective communication.

In order to provide students in Grades 2 through 12 with international platforms, the ICC, one of the biggest academic competition organisers in Asia, partners with the internationally renowned Copernicus Olympiad of the United States.

Students can compete in subjects including English, mathematics, physics, and the natural sciences and earn recognition through these competitions.

Lahore is pleased of Aamaya Kashif’s incredible victory and is looking forward to her trip to the Global Final, where she hopes to establish herself on the global scene.
