China Launches Scholarship Program for Students from Pakistan
A scholarship scheme for AJK, Pakistani students to study and do research in Chinese universities has been launched by the Chinese government for 2025–2026.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) states that Monday, December 9, 2024, is the deadline for submitting an online application.
Only candidates who have already received a valid HAT (score obtained on or after December 09, 2022 is valid) or USAT (score obtained on or after December 09, 2023 is valid) score will be taken into consideration for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2025–2026. To be considered, applicants must submit a valid score via the HEC site at the time of application submission.

The Chinese Scholarship Council and the Chinese government are providing Pakistani researchers and students with the opportunity to study and do research in Chinese universities in an effort to strengthen educational cooperation between China and Pakistan. For these scholarships in the 2025–2026 academic year, HEC is the nominating organisation on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
Entrusted by the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Education, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) is in charge of administering and enrolling students in the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. Scholarships for undergraduate/bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral/PhD programs are available to qualified candidates.
As per eligibility criteria, applicants must be Pakistani/AJ&K nationals. Those with dual nationality are not allowed to apply. Applicants must be in good health. Applicants with incomplete degrees on the closing date of application are not allowed to apply.
Candidates for the Undergraduate/Bachelors program must be under 25 years old at the time of application and have intermediate, A-level, or FA-FSC (12 years) of education. Candidates for the Masters program must be under 35 years old at the time of application and hold a bachelor’s degree (16 years).
Candidates for PhD programs must be under 40 years old at the time of application and hold a master’s degree, such as an MS or MPhil. fulfil the prerequisites for applications listed on the China Scholarship Council’s website and portal. fulfil the academic eligibility, language competency, and other pertinent conditions for admission of the applied universities. Applicants might not currently be receiving any other scholarships.
Every applicant must submit their HAT or USAT results (USAT for undergraduates and HAT for master’s and doctoral degrees). Candidates must have passed the USAT or HAT exam with at least a 50 out of 100. Applications won’t be processed further if they don’t have a minimum HAT or USAT test score of 50 out of 100. USAT has a one-year validity period, while HAT has a two-year validity period. For this scholarship, the applicant must have already obtained a valid HAT (score obtained on or after December 09, 2022) or USAT score (score obtained on or after December 09, 2023).
According to the details of the tuition funds, the host university will use them all. It might pay for health insurance, education, administrative expenses, and costs associated with student activities.
Each recipient will receive a complimentary university dormitory or housing subsidy in the interim. Stipends will be awarded in accordance with the scholarship program of the Chinese government.
The scholarship recipients would be responsible for covering their own travel expenses. In any event, HEC shall not be held financially responsible.
