International Conference Organized by the Department of Space Science, Punjab University

An international conference was held under the auspices of the Department of Space Science, Punjab University, in collaboration with TU Dortmund University Germany, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Lahore College for Women University Lahore, and NUST Islamabad. The conference focused on the theme, “Planning in Germany and Pakistan: The Cultural Concept Between Urban and Rural Landscapes and Cultural Heritage.”

The conference highlighted sustainable urban planning, rural development, and the preservation of cultural heritage from a cultural perspective. Experts, educators, and students from both countries participated, sharing their thoughts on addressing common global challenges.

Later, the delegation met with the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, at his office. The Vice Chancellor thanked the participants of the delegation and assured full cooperation in promoting international relations.

During the conference session, speeches were delivered by Professor Dr. Syed Amir Mahmood, Chairman of the Department of Space Science, Punjab University; Professor Dr. Shakir Mahmood; Professor Dr. Dietwald Gruhn; Professor Tabassum Reza; Professor Komail Tayyebi; Dr. Bryce Lawrence; Professor Dr. Atiq ur Rehman; Dr. Bashir Zada; Safi Ullah; and Dr. Muhammad Imran.

Dr. Syed Amir Mahmood and Dr. Muhammad Imran conducted an interactive session on the establishment of early warning systems, emphasizing the importance of the conference’s theme. This session provided a unique platform for international delegates to connect with students and faculty members, fostering the exchange of scientific knowledge and ideas. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening cooperation between Germany and Pakistan, paving the way for innovations in planning, cultural heritage preservation, and the future of urban and rural landscapes.
