The two institutions also plan to establish a center of excellence focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity.

Registration for the Punjab Merit Scholarship Program Opens

In unrelated news, applications for the province-wide Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship program are now being accepted. The program intends to offer scholarships in 68 fields to 30,000 students each year.

Scholarships from 131 graduate schools, 16 medical colleges, and 50 public universities will be given out.

120,000 students will profit from the 130 billion rupees that will be allotted under this initiative over the course of the next four years. For students seeking BS degrees at public universities and eight carefully chosen private colleges, the scholarships will pay 100% of the tuition.

When she authorised the initiative in July, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed how important it is to encourage higher education, especially for students from rural areas. She emphasised the importance of involving the private sector in increasing educational possibilities during a special meeting of the Higher Education Department.
