Ismail Global and the Hamid Ismail Foundation back Junaid Memon in his pursuit of innovative engineering research. Oxford-bound

Ismail Global and Hamid Ismail Foundation are happy to announce their support of Junaid Memon, a very gifted scholar who will be pursuing a DPhil in Engineering Science at the illustrious University of Oxford.

This accomplishment honours Memon’s individual accomplishments as well as Ismail Global and the Hamid Ismail Foundation’s dedication to advancing technology and developing Pakistan’s most brilliant brains.

A product of Pakistan’s public education system, Junaid Memon graduated with a degree in electronics engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, where he earned a gold medal for his remarkable performance. Later, as a Fulbright scholar, he finished his master’s degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University with a focus on instrumentation and control systems.

Now, with the kind support of the Hamid Ismail Foundation and Ismail Global, Junaid is getting ready to start the next stage of his academic career at Oxford University. His DPhil study will centre on novel developments in multi-agent systems, an area that has great promise for influencing Pakistan’s technological environment.

Apart from his scholarly accomplishments, Junaid has been leading engineering research and practice in Pakistan. He was a key contributor to the development of a scalable network of smart water flow meters as co-lead on the Karachi Water Project, which addressed the pressing water management issues facing the city. As an up-and-coming leader in Pakistan’s engineering industry, he has gained attention for his work on intelligent infrastructure solutions.

Research is not the only thing that drives Junaid’s love for teaching. He received the Distinguished Award in Teaching Excellence while he was an engineering professor at Habib University in Karachi. His goal is to motivate the upcoming generation of Pakistani engineers to contribute significantly to the advancement of their nation through their profession.

An Ismail Global representative stated, “We are proud to support Junaid Memon in his pursuit of a DPhil at Oxford.” His creative research and ardour for teaching are in line with the principles that Ismail Global and the Hamid Ismail Foundation cherish. We have no doubt that his contributions will influence Pakistan’s future in a significant way.
