Pakistani Students Can Apply For English Access Scholarships Offered By US

The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi held a celebration to mark the beginning of the 2024 English Access Scholarship Program, which will provide 200 students with English language instruction. The program’s objective is to give participants the abilities and information need to prosper in a globalised society.

Consul General (CG) Scott Urbom emphasised the program’s significance in providing access to fresh chances and a more promising future throughout the event. According to CG, “these students are unlocking new academic and career prospects by improving their English proficiency.” The Urbom.

Additionally, he underlined that the curriculum will foster language proficiency as well as an awareness of American ideals and culture. The program’s implementing partner, Evolution, was thanked for its hard-working instructors, coordinators, and staff by CG Urbom. The academic partners, namely Sindh Madressatul Islam University, University of Sufism and Modern Sciences Bhitshah, and Sindh Agriculture University, Umerkot, were also acknowledged.

The two-year program, which is sponsored by the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Mission in Pakistan, provides academically gifted but economically disadvantaged adolescents between the ages of 13 and 20 with intense after-school English instruction. Students who participate in the Access program will learn about American democracy and culture, which will improve their capacity to support Pakistan’s socioeconomic growth and make them more eligible for future academic and exchange opportunities in the United States.

A component of the U.S. government’s continuous endeavours to assist Pakistani educational projects and equip youth for success in a globalised society is the English Access Scholarship Program.

Almost 8,000 students from Sindh and Balochistan have benefited from the program since its start in 2004, giving them the tools they need to flourish internationally.
