Numerous Foreign Universities Declare Their Intention to Open Campuses in Pakistan

Under the direction of Dr. Jeanette Forbes, OBE, Scotland’s Trade Ambassador to Pakistan, a high-level delegation from Robert Gordon University and the Scotland Chamber of Commerce paid an official visit to the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA).

The delegation, which highlighted the growing interest of foreign institutions in CBD Punjab’s projects, included the Vice Principal of Robert Gordon University in Scotland, Professor Lynn Kilbride, Dr. Elliot Pirie, Associate Dean for Academic Development and Student Engagement, Director of FPCCI Pakistan-UK Business Council Arslan Ijaz Anwer, and Project Manager Taar Consulting Sana Mehwish.

Imran Amin, CEO of CBD Punjab, greeted the party with warmth and gave a thorough briefing on the range of ongoing initiatives that fall under the CBD Punjab umbrella. The creation of the Education District inside the historic CBD NSIT City project was given particular attention, as it has grown to be a key component of CBD Punjab’s mission to advance higher education and encourage innovation in the area.

“CBD NSIT City’s Education District is designed with state-of-the-art infrastructure and world-class facilities to accommodate local and international universities,” said Imran Amin, who presented the authority’s plans for the district during the briefing. Our objective is to construct an academic centre where universities from all over the world can set up shop and support Punjab’s intellectual and economic development.

He added that CBD Punjab is in active talks to establish campuses in the Education District with a number of esteemed local and foreign universities. The ongoing talks demonstrate CBD Punjab’s dedication to developing the region into a worldwide hub for knowledge and research that complies with international standards for education.

Scotland’s Trade Ambassador, Dr. Janet Forbs, commended CBD Punjab for its activities, especially the creative idea of CBD NSIT City. She said, “CBD Punjab’s projects, particularly the Education District, have the potential to make a major contribution to Punjab’s economic development. We applaud the authority’s forward-thinking stance and look forward to expanding partnerships that will benefit Pakistan and Scotland alike.

Furthermore, the Dean and Vice Principal of Robert Gordon University conveyed a strong desire to investigate the feasibility of launching a campus in the CBD NSIT City Education District. They saw the strategic importance of the district in promoting global academic collaborations and offering high-quality education.

The Chief Operating Officer of CBD Punjab, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, Director of Business Development CBD Punjab, also actively participated in the tour. Waseem Siddiq, Director of Marketing at CBD Punjab, Ali Waqar Shah, and Sameer Aftab Sial, Director of Architecture & Planning at CBD Punjab. At the end of the visit, all parties decided to keep talking and look into possible joint ventures in the areas of economic development, research, and education.
