Schools in Lahore Will Introduce a “WhatsApp Learning Programme”
A new WhatsApp learning programme has been launched by the Lahore School Education Department with the goal of raising academic levels in government schools. In the beginning, ten schools in Lahore would host the programme in partnership with UNICEF.
Ten parents and five teachers from each participating school will be chosen for the programme, and they will spend four weeks in intensive training. The ultimate goal of this training is to raise the standard of instruction in public schools by encouraging improved parent-teacher dialogue and collaboration. For participation, schools are asked to submit a list of instructors and parents who are interested.
This event transpires subsequent to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s approval of a public school reorganisation programme that centres on the restoration and enhancement of government schools across the province.
Within six months, Chief Minister Nawaz has set an ambitious goal to build and renovate 1,000 school fields. In an effort to create a more stimulating and competitive learning environment, she has also oversaw the start of weekly and monthly competitions in government schools.
The chief minister has also demanded a thorough mapping of Punjabi schools in order to determine and solve their requirements and amenities. The education sector will benefit from these mapping-based advancements and investments in the future.
Plans to regularise 14,000 Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) and Secondary School Teachers (SSEs) in Punjab are also part of the reorganisation programme, which will give these educators more stability and job security.
The Green School Programme is a noteworthy element of the effort that fosters environmental responsibility in students. Each student will plant at least one sapling as part of this programme, and in order to maintain accountability and monitor growth, the progress will be digitally mapped.
