Funding for the Education Ministry Will Increase many folds soon.

Government funding for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training is expected to rise significantly in the next fiscal year.

The Planning Commission has allocated Rs. 20.25 billion for the ministry under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2024–25, according to Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani.
This is a rise of around 140% above the Rs. 8.5 billion allotted for the fiscal year 2023–2024. The Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) budget was restored by the federal government last week, bringing it up to Rs. 65 billion for the 2024–25 fiscal year.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, the chairman of HEC, stated that the government had previously reduced the funding to Rs25 billion. He continued by saying that the HEC can continue to smoothly supply institutions throughout the provinces with the funding they require thanks to the restored budget.

The HEC chairman has been formally informed of this decision by the Ministry of Finance via formal correspondence.

The Planning Commission has restored the HEC’s development budget to Rs. 59 billion, after it was originally cut to Rs. 21 billion, in addition to the present budget restoration.
