Solar Power Will Provide Electricity to Thousands of Schools in Punjab Soon
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday by the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and the Bank of Punjab (BoP), marking a significant development in their collaboration. With this collaboration, PEF’s goal of providing solar panels to more than 7,000 Punjabi schools is anticipated to advance significantly. This alliance’s main objective is to provide easily available installment loans to educational institutions so they can implement sustainable energy solutions.
The MoU was signed by Salman Shah, Head of Retail Finance Division of BoP, and Shahid Farid, Managing Director of PEF. MD Shahid Farid emphasized the initiative’s possible advantages for the educational system during the signing ceremony. Over 2.7 million children will receive environmentally friendly electricity thanks to the installation of solar panels, which is anticipated to drastically reduce electricity costs for PEF’s partner schools. The joint venture between PEF and BoP demonstrates a progressive strategy for addressing energy requirements in education, advocating for sustainability, and making a positive environmental impact.
