Global Conference on Challenges in Women’s Education: Malala Yousafzai Arrives in Pakistan

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has arrived in Pakistan to attend a two-day global conference on the challenges faced in women’s education.

The Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Farah Naz Akbar, warmly welcomed Malala Yousafzai and presented her with a bouquet of flowers. On this occasion, Malala was also gifted a book. During her visit, Malala Yousafzai will participate in a summit on girls’ education in Pakistan and discuss solutions to the challenges women face in accessing education.

The arrival of other global leaders for the two-day global conference on challenges in women’s education is also underway. From Malaysia, Minister of Religious Affairs, Mohd. Naim Bin Mokhtar, arrived in Pakistan with a delegation. From Myanmar, religious scholar Uang Mint Tin was received by Ministry of Education officials upon his arrival in Pakistan.

Religious scholars Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed and Sheikh Ahmed Al-Mustafi from Mauritania also arrived in Pakistan to attend the global conference. Leslie Alfrish, Special Representative from the United States, arrived in Pakistan to attend the event, where officials from the Ministry of Education warmly welcomed her.

Religious scholar Mohammad Abbas Jawad Al-Talebi from Iraq has also arrived in Pakistan. The Minister of Education and Science from Kyrgyzstan, Kenderbaiwa Dogdorukul Shershiona, arrived in Pakistan as well and had a meeting with Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.

The Minister of Education from Kyrgyzstan is also attending the two-day global conference. The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan, Avazbek Atakhanov, welcomed the Minister of Education.
