Govt School Headmistress Under Fire for Requesting Fancy Dresses to Verify Records

A troubling case has emerged from Lahore’s Johar Town, where the headmistress of a government school allegedly demanded expensive dresses in exchange for approving pension documents.

Rehan Bashir, a resident of Iqbal Town, revealed that he faced this ordeal while trying to finalize his late mother’s pension. He submitted his complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, backed by a secret recording of the demand.

According to Rehan, he visited Government Girls High School in Samsani Khoi to process the documents. However, instead of straightforward assistance, the school staff informed him that the headmistress required five fancy dresses in return for her signature.

Despite his efforts to negotiate, the headmistress only approved the documents after Rehan provided three dresses.

Deeply frustrated, Rehan filed a formal complaint with the Education Department, accusing the headmistress of bribery and misuse of authority. However, after two months of inaction, he escalated the matter to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

In response, the bureau summoned the headmistress, school staff, and the education CEO for questioning. When they failed to appear, the bureau instructed the CEO to ensure their attendance for the investigation.

The case has sparked outrage, raising serious concerns about corruption within educational institutions and the abuse of authority for personal gain.
