The progress of building 40 charging stations on national roads and motorways was assessed at the fourth meeting of the Electric Vehicles Policy, which was chaired by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain.
During the meeting, he declared that the Federal government had chosen to give the top 120 Federal Board students free electric motorcycles.
Rana Tanveer Hussain, who spoke at the meeting, stated that all gas pumps should have charging stations installed by the CDA.
According to the Federal Minister, concessional loans will be used to purchase 1,900 electric rickshaws and 39,000 electric motorcycles.
He added that the Prime Minister’s vision calls for Islamabad to become a model city and that the entire process should be digitalised for transparency.
He stated that an announcement about the Electric Vehicles Policy would be made shortly.
