Sindh’s health and education systems are significantly superior to Punjab’s: Governor

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, the governor of Punjab, stated on Friday that Sindh’s health and education systems are far superior to Punjab’s.

He made this statement while speaking to attendees at the Governor House of the 26th National Security Workshop, which was hosted by the National Defence University of Islamabad.

According to the governor, it is crucial that the government consult with its coalition partners in order to address the issues facing the nation. He claimed that without the backing of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party, the PML-N would not be able to maintain its position as prime minister. Despite being an ally, he continued, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party is not being consulted. He claimed that the PPP formed its alliance with the PML-N under duress rather than out of love.

The governor claimed to have briefed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari, the president of Pakistan, about the situation in Punjab. He stated that he broke down the barrier and went to the Chief Minister himself, even though custom dictated that the Chief Minister should have visited the Governor. He claimed to have reassured the chief minister that they should cooperate as a team because they are coalition partners. According to him, the People’s Party is just interested in merit being given priority.

According to the governor, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was instrumental in the passage of the 26th Amendment to the Constitution. According to him, the previous collaboration with the PML-N was a terrible one. We anticipated that the PML-N would have learnt from the past, he added. He said that no implementation has yet occurred in spite of written agreements and consultative meetings.

The governor responded to a question about universities by saying that research in universities needs to be prioritised and that there is a plan to host a workshop for students at the Governor House in Lahore.

He claimed that the Pakistan People’s Party has consistently been the target of propaganda that the PPP has failed to deliver in Sindh. He claimed that in terms of high-quality education, the Higher Education Commission of Sindh is presently offering first-rate services. According to him, Sindh province has a significantly better health and educational system than Punjab.
