Pakistan’s First AI Teacher Is Introduced by a Private School

Pakistan’s first AI-powered teacher was launched by a private school in Karachi, establishing a new standard for the nation’s educational system.

The AI teacher, named Ainee, has been implemented in a school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and is intended to help fifth-grade children with subjects like science, arithmetic, and languages.

The AI instructor may respond to questions from students, track their academic achievement, and modify classes to fit their unique learning styles. With the goal of offering a customised and flexible learning experience, the project blends cutting-edge artificial intelligence with traditional classroom instruction.

This innovation is in line with Pakistan’s growing emphasis on integrating AI across a range of industries. Relatedly, by early 2025, the federal government plans to release its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.

Strengthening cybersecurity, facilitating real-time cyber threat detection and response, and assisting in the prevention of data breaches will be the main objectives of the policy. Additionally, it is anticipated to help the nation’s goal of creating a “Digital Pakistan” and strengthen the digital economy.

Improving Pakistan’s position in international cybersecurity rankings is the goal of the future AI policy. Using AI-driven efforts, Pakistan, which is now placed in the top 40 countries in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, hopes to rise into the top 10–15 in the upcoming years.

Syed Junaid Imam, Member IT at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, said the AI policy would place a strong emphasis on cybersecurity at the Cyber Threat Intelligence 2024 conference. He underlined that “AI is crucial for ensuring secure cyberspace,” underscoring the government’s dedication to promoting digital transformation.
