Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrates Allama Iqbal Day with a special event.
Recently, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University‘s Department of Middle East and South Asia held a special event called “Iqbal’s Readings” in celebration of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Day.
Prominent figures attended the event, including Mr. Walid Iqbal, the grandson of the renowned poet-philosopher, and Ms. Rizwana Qazi, the consul of Pakistan in Kazakhstan.
Muhammad Murtaza Noor, National Coordinator of the Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences in Pakistan, and Dr. Abdul Iqbal Rafiqui, Director of the Iqbal Academy, were among the other distinguished visitors.
The visitors were greeted by Dr. Em Natalia Borisovna, dean of the Oriental Studies Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Speakers during the ceremony emphasised Allama Iqbal’s significant contributions to Pakistan and the world, highlighting his influence on the subcontinent’s political and intellectual climate. Students brought Iqbal’s words to life and contributed to the rich celebration of his legacy by performing his well-known poetry.
The occasion further cemented the partnership between Kazakhstan and Pakistan by acting as a potent reminder of the enduring influence of Iqbal’s poetry and thought. It was an unforgettable event that highlighted the two brotherly nations’ common intellectual and cultural links.
