Numerous LCWU students protest the clerk’s mistreatment.
Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) administration was forced to restrict the campus’s entrance and leave points on Monday after a large number of students attempting to stage a demonstration on Jail Road in opposition to harassment occurrences on campus attempted to organise a rally.
Hamid, the university clerk, was accused by the demonstrators of harassing two female students.
They bemoaned the fact that, even at the institution designed with women in mind, they felt unsafe.
Conversely, the administration of the university kept quiet about the incidences at all.
Students at the Lahore College for Women’s University (LCWU) staged a protest on Monday, accusing the administration of failing to act against the clerk who had harassed two of them as well as covering up the incidents of rape.
The demonstrators, who shut down Jail Road, claimed that the majority of rape cases were documented in 2022–2023.
They said that last Thursday’s evening lesson, attended by a second-year student, also involved rape.
The demonstrators claimed that although the victims of sexual assault subsequently left the university after their futures were ruined, the perpetrators continued to walk the campus with impunity.
They requested that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz pay attention to these instances, pointing out that despite being notified multiple times, Dr. Uzma Qureshi was doing nothing to prosecute those responsible for the horrible crime.
