Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship for Students Is Launched by CM Maryam
On Monday, the province-wide Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship program opened for registration.
Each year, 30,000 students from 68 different fields will get scholarships thanks to this program. Students from 131 graduate schools, 16 medical colleges, and 50 public universities will benefit from the grants.
Under this scheme, a total of 130 billion rupees will be disbursed over the next four years, supporting 120,000 students financially throughout that time.
The “Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship” program was approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in July, and she also ordered an increase in the number of scholarships.
The Chief Minister declared that the scholarships will pay for all tuition for students pursuing BS degrees at public universities and eight carefully chosen private colleges, at a special meeting of the Higher Education Department on Saturday.
Maryam emphasised the value of working with the private sector to advance higher education, especially in order to give students from rural areas access to possibilities. Students can apply here for scholarships.
