Faisalabad’s Young Business Community to Benefit from UK’s Chevening Scholarships to Enhance Leadership Skills

The young business community of Faisalabad will fully leverage the UK’s Chevening Scholarships to enhance their leadership skills. This was stated by Dr. Khurram Tariq, President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during a meeting with Suneha Lala, Deputy Director of Communications at the British High Commission, and Reema Salman, Communications Manager.

He expressed satisfaction over the excellent diplomatic and trade relations between Pakistan and the UK and noted that the UK offers educational facilities as well as programs like Chevening, aimed at training young leaders to be well-equipped to contribute positively to their society and respective fields after returning from their studies in the UK.

Dr. Tariq mentioned that the Faisalabad Chamber will circulate a digital brochure about this program among all its members so that they or their children can benefit from it. He also asked Ms. Suneha Lala to clarify certain concerns and reservations regarding the program, so that young entrepreneurs can participate without hesitation. Deputy Director of Communications, Ms. Suneha Lala, provided detailed information about the Chevening Scholarships, noting that admissions for 2025-26 are now open and will continue until November 5.

She mentioned that the selected candidates will be announced in June 2025, allowing them to commence their studies in the UK from September/October 2025. She explained that this is a one-year Master’s degree program, with all expenses covered by the UK. It is specifically designed for mid-career individuals to introduce new and innovative reforms in their respective fields.

In response to a question, she stated that this program is open to individuals of all ages, genders, and sectors, enabling them to contribute their skills for the betterment of Pakistan. However, she emphasized that applicants must have at least two years of practical experience post-graduation. At the end of the meeting, President Dr. Khurram Tariq presented an honorary shield to Ms. Suneha Lala on behalf of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was also attended by Vice President Haji Muhammad Aslam Bhali, Engineer Asim Munir, Mian Muhammad Tayyab, Muhammad Azhar Chaudhry, Shafiq Hussain Shah, and other members.
