Exposure of Rs. 520 million in corruption at Chandka Hospital in Larkana

An inquiry into the purported misappropriation of more than Rs 520 million at the Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana, Sindh, was started on Thursday.

Dr. Gulzar Tanyu, a former Medical Superintendent (MS), is the subject of an investigation by the Anti-wrongdoing Establishment Larkana about alleged wrongdoing concerning the purchase of medical equipment in 2022.

According to sources, in June 2022, Dr. Tanyu paid multiple companies advance payments totalling more than Rs 520 million. Since then, anti-corruption officials have found that the hospital’s property is missing the equipment.

The health department has requested information pertaining to contracts, purchases, and expenses from 2021 to 2023, and evidence of financial malfeasance has been gathered.

Dr. Tanyu is the Assistant Medical Superintendent (AMS) of Chandka Hospital in spite of the probe. The authorities are working harder to get more information in this well-known corruption case.
