The board also talked on how to improve the province’s nursing faculty development. In its official publication, Biomedica, UHS will have a section just for nursing research papers, and nursing faculty members will be on the editorial board. To oversee faculty training programs, each nursing college will set up a Department of Nursing Education, which will report to UHS every two years. It was also revealed that a distinct nursing research journal will soon be launched.
Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore, vice chancellor, also revealed the establishment of a UHS nursing faculty, registration for which can be done online. In order to solve the issue of equivalency for graduates of the two-year Post-RN Nursing degree, UHS is going to administer a unique English, Pakistan Studies, and Islamic Studies examination. The Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) BSc equivalency will be easier to earn with the help of this exam. Going forward, these courses will also be included in the Post-RN Nursing curriculum.
