The School Nutrition Program was officially launched in Dera Ghazi Khan on Thursday by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Students up to the fifth grade will receive free milk as part of this project.

CM Maryam Nawaz underlined her commitment to the welfare of children throughout Punjab during the launch event. “I am not far from you, Dera Ghazi Khan, no matter how far it is from Lahore. Her personal dedication to the kids of the region was highlighted when she said, “I think of all these children as a mother would; these children are VIPs to me.”

“I thought the children here wouldn’t know me, but they all do,” Nawaz said, expressing her surprise and joy at the kind response she received. Nawaz’s emphasis on grassroots development is evident in the School Nutrition Program, which was introduced in Dera Ghazi Khan rather than more populous cities like Lahore or Rawalpindi. Declaring, “I have thousands of schools under my administration in Punjab, with millions of children enrolled,” she acknowledged the difficulties the province was facing. Although Pakistan lacks riches and has few resources, brighter times are on the horizon. I’ll use every effort to ensure that the dietary requirements of children.

Nawaz reaffirmed the program’s worth despite its high cost, saying, “Nothing is more valuable than our children, even though this program is expensive.”

Maryam Nawaz emphasised the value of funding children’s education and nourishment, and she asked other chief ministers in the province to take similar actions. She reaffirmed her dedication to long-term growth and practical solutions by saying, “I want to work practically, and your Chief Minister is like a mother to you.”
