Scholarships from HEC are Available for Students from Gilgit Baltistan
Applications from Gilgit-Baltistan students wishing to undertake undergraduate courses (4/5 year BS programs) at HEC-recognized public sector universities or degree-awarding institutions are being accepted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). This scholarship is offered under the “Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan in Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions (Batch-IV)” for the academic year 2024–2025 in all subjects of study.
Qualifications
- Candidates must possess a Gilgit-Baltistan domicile or local certificate.
- The Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or a comparable credential must have been earned by applicants.
- Those who have already received funding from another scholarship are not qualified.
- As of the application deadline, the maximum age is 22 years old.
- For admission to BS programs, candidates must fulfil both HEC and university requirements.
Coverage of Scholarships
- fees for tuition, housing, and other expenses up to Rs. 240,000 annually.
- an allowance of Rs. 15,000 every month.
- Allowances for books and trips amounting to Rs. 30,000 annually.
The Education Testing Council (ETC), HEC, and the candidates’ academic records will determine which candidates make the short list.
Applicants must receive at least a 50% on the test in order to be eligible for the award. The outcome is good for one year from the date of announcement.
- Prior to the advertisement, students who were already enrolled in a BS degree at public sector universities or institutions are also eligible, for a maximum of one academic year.
- Merit-based scholarships will be given out without regard to a candidate’s gender, caste, colour, or religion.
- All Pakistani public sector universities and institutions are accepting applications.
- Without giving previous notice, HEC retains the right to halt or postpone the scholarship application process.
How to Submit an Application
- The HEC site must be used to submit applications online.
- Only filled-out applications will be taken into account; after finishing their forms, students should click “Submit.”
- For reference, applicants should keep their application ID and payment receipt.
- It is necessary to make a non-refundable payment of Rs. 500 via the online platform of Habib Bank Limited (HBL). The advertisement contains the bank’s information.
- A scanned copy of the completed fee challan must be included with the application.
September 30, 2024 is the deadline.
