Candidates for Provincial Management Service Ask KP Govt to Raise Age Limit
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has been requested by candidates for the Provincial Management Service (PMS) to implement the decision to raise the examination’s maximum age restriction.
Vice President Zakria and PMS Aspirants Association President Syed Haris have urged the province administration to carry out its earlier decision to lower the PMS examination’s maximum age restriction.
They also mentioned how this will protect thousands of young people in the province. They claimed to have previously lobbied for lifting the maximum age restriction to 37 for public officials and 35 for general candidates, having met with ministers and other officials.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly passed a resolution in support of them, but the age restrictions have not been loosened. In order to protect the candidates’ futures, they insisted that the government carry out the ruling.
It is important to note that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly enacted resolutions in May to raise the PMS’s age restriction from 30 to 37. The resolution suggested increasing the age limit to 35 for female candidates taking the PMS tests and to 37 for government jobs.
The resolution put forth by MPA Shafiullah Jan made clear that a four-year bachelor’s degree is now required for PMS candidates instead of the previous two-year minimum. It therefore recommended raising the PMS exam age restriction to reflect these revised educational qualifications.
