Exam Date for MDCAT 2024 Announced by PMDC
The MDCAT exam will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024, according to a decision made by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC).
The council recently agreed to hold the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) on the same date both in Pakistan and overseas for prospective medical students.
The council also determined that the MDCAT syllabus will be posted on the PM&DC website the following week, along with an open registration gateway. The MDCAT syllabus will stay the same as last year in order to accommodate the students, since the Council agreed not to alter the syllabus.
According to the statement, the council gave all provincial secretaries instructions to begin preparing for the MDCAT exam, noting that the decision was made with the greater interest of the students in mind.
Nearly 180,534 pupils took the tests last year. Estimates indicate that 200,000 students are anticipated to take the test this year. In order to guarantee that tests were administered without causing difficulties to students in any province, the MDCAT paper difficulty index would also be taken into account for student convenience without sacrificing merit.
According to PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, MDCAT-2024 would be a one-day, paper-based exam administered by provincial public accepting universities under PM&DC’s supervision.
He underlined that PM&DC is working nonstop to support students and that their bright future is our main concern.
Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj has instructed all universities that will administer the tests to strictly adhere to rules and regulations in order to guarantee equity and openness in the admissions procedure.
He continued by saying that the Council recognises the significance of the MDCAT exam for applicants to dentistry and medical schools. As a result, PM&DC will guarantee that all required preparations are completed on schedule.
The PMDC will provide further information in the next days about the MDCAT exam, such as the timetable, registration procedure, and other specifics.
In addition, he said prospective medical students should continue to visit the PM&DC website in order to stay informed and ready for the impending exam.
