The inauguration ceremony of the new block of Akhuwat College and University in Mustafaabad was held yesterday. The Acting Governor Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq attended as the chief guests. Provincial Assembly Member Chaudhry Ilyas Gujar, Chairman of Akhuwat Foundation Dr. Amjad Saqib, Deputy Commissioner of Kasur Muhammad Arshad Bhatti, DPO of Kasur Muhammad Iesa Khan, Assistant Commissioner Atiya Inayat Madani, DSP of Sadar Circle Khalid Mahmood Jhatool, and others were also present.
Acting Governor Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, along with National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, inaugurated the new block “Dr. Khalifa Shujauddin” at Akhuwat College and University in Mustafaabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Acting Governor Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said, “Dr. Amjad Saqib’s mission is commendable. With institutions like Akhuwat in Pakistan, we can advance in the field of education.”
He praised Akhuwat’s interest-free loans and its program to provide free education to students from all four provinces as an extraordinary initiative. He urged the youth to avoid engaging in anti-state propaganda on social media to ensure a better future for their families and Pakistan. He emphasized that acquiring knowledge should go hand in hand with adopting high moral values. Societies that learn to engage in welfare activities collectively are the ones that progress.
In light of the current circumstances, the services of the Akhuwat organization should be appreciated. Speaking to the media, the Acting Governor of Punjab mentioned that given the current situation, a better budget could not have been presented. The government has tried to ensure that the public does not bear too much burden. Punjab has presented a surplus budget and no new taxes have been imposed. There are 113 new public service projects, including municipal services and job opportunities.
He wished the Finance Minister Aurangzeb success in his efforts to improve the Pakistani economy. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq remarked that Dr. Amjad Saqib is a historic figure. He was pleased to see children from all over Pakistan here to quench their thirst for education. Dr. Amjad Saqib and others also spoke on the occasion.
