Punjab University’s Faculty of Computing and Information Technology’s three BS programs receive accreditation
The academic programs of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at Punjab University have once again been accredited by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council. According to Professor Dr. Engineer Shehzad Sarwar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, the approved programs are indeed a testament to high-quality education and research outcomes, which were also praised by members of the Accreditation Inspection Team.
He said that this success is the result of strict and accurate decision-making, continuous attention, and mutual cooperation. He praised the faculty members and employees for achieving this milestone. He expressed hope that the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at Punjab University will continue to take steps to become one of the best institutions for higher education in computing.
He also thanked the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, for his cooperation. He mentioned that the BS degree programs, including CS (Computer Science), SE (Software Engineering), and IT (Information Technology), were recognized by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council and HEC (Higher Education Commission) for Fall 2020 and 2019. He stated that all three programs have been awarded Category-X. Furthermore, the National Computing Education Accreditation Council has granted full accreditation for the BS CS, SE, and IT degree programs for the Fall 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015 batches. He also mentioned that the Council has allowed enrollment in three parts for each accredited degree program for the academic year 2024-2025.
