Satellite Internet is Introduced in Schools in Punjab
With the goal of bridging the digital divide, Punjab inaugurated its satellite internet initiative in schools on Friday. Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, launched the pilot project at DPS Model Town.
A delegation from the UAE, headed by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum, was also present when the Memorandum was signed. By bridging the digital divide, the MoU intends to bring satellite internet to thousands of schools throughout Punjab. This partnership demonstrates a cooperative effort to employ technology for development.
The UAE team emphasised the value of satellite internet throughout the two sides’ negotiations as a means of enhancing digital access, particularly in rural areas.
Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s capacity to foster technical innovation and assist emerging talent. The collaboration of One Web, ADM Holding, and the Punjab government signifies a concerted endeavour to realise the digital aspirations of the area.
Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to giving students access to computers and satellite internet, promising a digitally empowered Punjab. Maryam Aurangzeb, the senior provincial minister, and Senator Pervez Rasheed were also present.
