The Arfa Kareem Foundation Introduces a Scholarship Initiative for Meritous Students

The Punjab University Department of Social Work, Sughra Begum Centre for Education Policy and Development, and the Arfa Karim Foundation collaborated to host a conference at Al Raazi Hall with the theme “Education, Social Innovation, and Social Development: Arfa Karim’s Dream.”

The Arfa Karim Fellowship program was introduced during the seminar with the goal of giving scholarships to fifty worthy students. The program aims to assist young people’s desires for education while also paying tribute to Arfa Karim’s legacy.

The event’s speakers stressed how the IT industry can revolutionize the way that children who are not in school are educated.

They emphasized the critical role that technological developments can play in mitigating educational gaps and promoting social progress.

Dr. Sonia Umar, the director of the Sughra Begum Centre for Education Policy and Development; Dr. Uzma Ashiq, the chairperson of the social work department; Samina Karim, the chairperson of the Arfa Karim Foundation; Tabinda Islam, the chief executive officer; Dr. Rubeena Zakar, the director of social and cultural studies; Dr. Amjad Abbas Magsi, the president of the Academic Staff Association; Dr. Kamran Abid, the director of GG IT; and Dr. Mahboob Hussain, the chairman of the history department were among the distinguished guests at the seminar.
