The 8th Oxford Big Read Global Competition Prize Distribution is Hosted by Oxford University Press Pakistan.
Oxford University Press Pakistan held the Oxford Big Read (OBR) Global Competition’s 8th edition Prize Distribution Ceremony at its offices in Karachi and Lahore to honor literary brilliance. Proud parents, renowned teachers, and winning kids graced the occasion.
The Oxford Big Read (OBR), now in its eighth edition, continues to captivate and motivate students all over Pakistan. A noteworthy 2641 entries were received this year from 67 schools around the country, demonstrating the increased interest that young people have in literature.
The Pakistani National Winners competition at the global level, where students from different OUP branches and offices across the world, such as Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and India, competed, was one of the highlights of OBR.
Three competing levels representing various age groups make up the competition’s structure: Level I (Grades 1-3), Level II (Grades 4-6), and Level III (Grades 7-9).
Arshad Husain, Managing Director of OUP, congratulated the awardees and said, “There is never a substitute for commitment, hard work, and dedication.” All levels of participation showed incredibly impressive talent, which is reason for joy.
The winner of the OBR 8th Level III category was Muhammad Ayan Amjad of Army Public School, Garrison Junior, Lahore. He won both the national titles and the coveted First Prize at the global level. In appreciation for his exceptional performance, Ayan was given an iPad, a gift card worth PKR 25,000, a shield, and an official award certificate.
