Schools in Punjab to resume regular timings from Feb 1st, 2024
The Punjab Education Department has extended the winter school schedule that it had previously announced till January 31, 2024, taking the extreme cold weather into consideration.
According to the updated schedules, all public and private schools are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, respectively.
Authorities announced in a recent notification that starting on February 1, schools will operate on regular schedules.
“In keeping with this department’s announcement of even No. dated 08.01.2024, all public and private schools in the province are officially advised that their current schedules will be observed through January 31, 2024. The notification stated, “The schools will resume regular timings from February 01, 2024.”
“Heads/Principals of Public and Private Schools and All Chief Executive Officers (DEA) in Punjab are directed to ensure compliance in letter and spirit,” the statement continued.
The interim government of Punjab announced on January 8 the winter schedule adjustments for all state-run and private schools in the province. Classes will start at 9:30 a.m. on January 10–22, the ministry has stated.
