Punjab Offers Scholarships for Students Across All Provinces

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the Honhaar Scholarship program, extending educational support to students from all provinces, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a recent meeting, she directed an increase in the number of laptops for students in Punjab to 110,000 and ordered the establishment of a special helpline to assist scholarship recipients.

Students from other provinces will follow the same eligibility criteria as those in Punjab, requiring a minimum of 65% marks to qualify for a laptop. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that scholarships and laptops are not privileges but rights, and the government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all students.

She reaffirmed that education and youth empowerment are the country’s most valuable investments and expressed her ambition to provide laptops to as many students as possible. Additionally, she assured that merit-based students applying to reputable colleges will have their tuition fees covered by the government.

The Chief Minister made it clear that funding will not be a barrier for student welfare programs and that students from all regions will be treated equally.

During the meeting, approval was also given for a Vice-Chancellors’ Conference and a Tech Expo in Punjab, further strengthening the province’s commitment to education and innovation.
