Punjab Ends Cash Salary Payments for Teachers in Privatized Schools
The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has announced an immediate ban on paying teachers’ salaries in cash. From now on, all payments must be made online or through bank accounts to ensure greater transparency.
A notification issued on Saturday confirmed the decision, stating that salary records will be maintained in the Teachers’ Information System. Schools that fail to comply with the new payment process risk losing their licenses.
In the first phase of this initiative, over 5,000 schools have been outsourced, employing around 10,000 teachers across Punjab.
