Private Schools Barred from Collecting Advance Fees

The Sindh Education Department, acting on the instructions of Additional Director Rafia Javed, has issued a directive to private schools, barring them from charging advance or extra fees beyond the approved timeline.

Officials clarified that under the leadership of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions released a circular outlining updated fee collection guideline. As per the Steering Committee’s decision, the academic year 2025-26 will begin on April 1, 2025, with matriculation exams scheduled to start on March 15, 2025.

To ease the financial strain on parents, schools are instructed to collect tuition fees for matriculation students only until April 2025. For students moving from pre-primary to Class IX and those advancing from Class IX to Class X, fees for June and July 2025 can be collected in April and May 2025, respectively.

Additionally, schools are required to issue separate fee vouchers for each month. For instance, vouchers for June must remain valid until June 30, 2025, while those for July must be valid until July 31, 2025.

The notice emphasized that all private school principals and administrators in Sindh must strictly adhere to these guidelines to ensure transparency and provide financial relief to parents. Any violations will result in strict action.

These directives are effective immediately and mandatory for all private schools across the province.
