LUMS and Oxford Join Hands for Faculty Exchange Program

LUMS is excited to collaborate with the Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) to launch the OPP-LUMS Faculty Exchange Initiative. This program will host an Oxford University scholar at LUMS each year, promoting academic exchange and fostering collaborative research opportunities.

The partnership was formalized on December 24 through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, and Dr. Talha Pirzada, Co-founder and Development Lead of OPP. The signing ceremony was also attended by Ms. Minahil Saqib, Outreach Lead at OPP.

The program, generously supported by Syed Babar Ali, aims to deepen ties between LUMS and Oxford while fostering mutual growth in research and education. The visiting scholar, titled the ‘Syed Babar Ali-OPP Visiting Fellow,’ will contribute by delivering lectures, engaging with students and faculty, and exploring opportunities for academic collaboration.

In its first phase, the initiative will welcome scholars from Lady Margaret Hall at Oxford University. In the coming years, it will broaden its scope to include academics from other Oxford colleges and departments.

This program builds on the strong relationship between LUMS and the Oxford Pakistan Programme, reflecting their shared dedication to fostering academic exchange and promoting research innovation.
