Urdu Mom, Tamania is a Pakistani-Canadian blogger<\/a>. She is a content creator and writes about parenting<\/a>, recipes, lifestyles, travel, multiculturalism and much more. She holds an MBA degree from LUMS and has worked in the field of marketing.
\nHer blogs are meant to entertain and educate kids. These are mostly done in the Urdu language since her main goal is to attract them towards Urdu. Her videos on youtube have gained a lot of fame.<\/p>\n

International channels such as BBC News, OMNI TV, CTV News, and Metro News share her blogs as a representative of South Asian families. Her work has also been aired on Pakistani channels; Geo<\/a> and Such TV and even radio channels; FM 98.4 and FM 91. Recently she even spoke on TEDx talks<\/a> about language and identity.<\/p>\n

Why Urdu?<\/h3>\n

Many Pakistanis living outside of Pakistan strongly feel the need to teach Urdu, Pakistani culture and traditional values to their children. These children often grow into confused adults who cannot relate to any culture. Hence parents like Tamania go out of their way to help their children develop a clear identity.<\/p>\n

How it all started?<\/h3>\n

Tamania wants her children to be proud of both the cultures i.e. Pakistani and Canadian. Her love for Urdu and the challenge of teaching Urdu to kids living outside Pakistan encouraged her to start her blog. She helps parents with parenting advice and live Urdu stories for children.
\nSince she was a working mom, staying at home after her kids were born, was quite a difficult decision for her. However, she has found peace with it and now really enjoys it. Hence, a creative mom, she never becomes a lazy mom. She started something very creative and educational, Urdu Mom.<\/p>\n

A word of advice from Tamania;<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy advice to all new moms is to respect and love their heritage if they wish to pass it on to their children. Raising multilingual children is one of the best gifts you can pass on to them.\u201d<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

You must take a look at Tamania\u2019s work no matter where you live. Even within Pakistan, our children are loosing their national identity at a fast pace due to the influence of the western culture. There is no harm in learning good values from the West, but please don\u2019t let your children forget who they really are and how special their language, culture and customs are. We should be proud of who we are and teach the same to our children. As a parent, we need to set a good example; speak our language, wear our national dress and promote our traditions so that our children follow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
