The Hashoo Foundation, in partnership with Sunbeams, has officially launched the \u201cPakistan 100 for 100\u201d (PK100) movement, a transformative initiative aimed at ensuring universal access to education for every child in Pakistan by the nation\u2019s 100th anniversary in 2047.<\/p>\n

Building on over 30 years of work in inclusive education, the Hashoo Foundation serves as the technical lead for this ambitious project. The PK100 initiative will begin with a pilot program in Islamabad, using a phased approach that starts at the Union Council level before expanding to a district-wide model. This scalable framework is designed to pave the way for nationwide implementation, helping make quality education accessible to all.<\/p>\n

The launch event brought together distinguished guests, including Murtaza Hashwani, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Hashoo Group and Chairman of Hashoo Foundation; Haris Qayyum Khan, CEO of Hashoo Foundation; and Ainee Nasir Jamy, Founder and Chairperson of Sunbeams, alongside key academics, policymakers, and government officials.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Haris Qayyum Khan highlighted the importance of the movement: \u201cThe Pakistan 100 for 100 Movement is a natural extension of our mission to use knowledge as a tool for socio-economic progress. PK100 is a bold step forward in creating a more inclusive and equitable education system for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murtaza Hashwani echoed this vision, stating: \u201cEducation has always been at the heart of Hashoo Foundation\u2019s mission. This initiative reflects our long-standing commitment to empowering young minds through education, skills, and opportunities. Our youth are the leaders of tomorrow, and investing in their education is the key to a prosperous future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ainee Nasir Jamy stressed the urgency of addressing Pakistan\u2019s education crisis: \u201cWith over 25 million children aged 5\u201316 out of school, Pakistan has the second-highest number of out-of-school children globally. This alarming statistic demands immediate action through systemic reforms, infrastructure development, and targeted initiatives like PK100.\u201d<\/p>\n
