By choosing to perform medical screenings on students, the Sindh<\/a> government has made a major step in the fight against the growing number of drug use cases in educational institutions.<\/p>\n

The screenings will first take place in public colleges throughout Sindh, and an official notification has been sent out to that effect.<\/p>\n

A three-member committee has been formed within the College Education Department, according to the notification issued by Secretary of College Education Asif Ikram. The principal of the relevant college, the regional director of the corresponding district, and the director general of Colleges Sindh will all be on this committee.<\/p>\n

The notification states that the Terms of Reference (TORs) for the committee have been established. These allow the medical screening team to visit any public college unexpectedly. The medical screening team, which has the power to perform medical examinations on any college student, will be supported by the team from the College Education Department.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Teams from the health department will conduct the medical screenings,” Dr. Naveed Rabb, Director of General Colleges Sindh, told Express News. To finalise the standards for choosing institutions and the guidelines for student medical examinations, talks are being held with the health department.<\/p>\n

Dr. Naveed responded to a query by saying that strategies to motivate kids to take part in medical screenings are still being developed. He added that the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Sindh government, along with other pertinent authorities, is working together on this project to eradicate this threat from educational institutions.<\/p>\n

The letter also states that educational institutions will host seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns. The purpose of these activities is to inform kids about the negative consequences of drug usage and how it affects their education and future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
