After the province-wide air quality improved, Punjab declared a return to regular school hours<\/a>. According to a notification sent by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)<\/a> Punjab, schools will once again open at 8:15 am today.<\/p>\n

The government had previously postponed school start times to 8:45 am on November 18 in response to rising pollution levels. The EPA decided it was time to return to the original schedule because the air quality was improving.<\/p>\n

The notification, which was put into effect in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act of 1997, is applicable to all Punjabi public and private educational institutions. The Director-General of the Environment, Imran Hamed Sheikh, has warned that schools who disregard the updated schedules risk severe legal repercussions, including fines.<\/p>\n

To make sure that the new direction is followed, local commissioners and deputy commissioners have been given instructions. The decision, officials stressed, aims to preserve instructional continuity while shielding teachers and pupils from extended exposure to air pollution.<\/p>\n
