The eligibility requirements for the Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV) in New Zealand have undergone significant adjustments as of late. It is anticipated that the modifications will further increase the nation’s attractiveness to international students, especially those pursuing postgraduate degrees.<\/p>\n

Students will now be eligible for a PSWV under the new regulations if they finish a 30-week postgraduate diploma (PGDip) and then enrol right away in a Master’s degree program. Students who switched to a Master’s program before finishing the entire 30-week period were previously not eligible for the visa program.<\/p>\n

According to sources, Immigration New Zealand (INZ)<\/a> explained that this modification gives students pursuing combined postgraduate degrees more freedom by filling a significant loophole in the previous rules.<\/p>\n

According to projections, around 69,000 overseas students would be enrolled in New Zealand’s courses in 2023. Compared to the prior year, this is a 67% increase. The allure of studying in New Zealand for overseas students<\/a> goes beyond its top-notch educational system. Most of the time, especially when studying abroad, one of the primary considerations is the possibility of obtaining work experience after graduation. International students now have a clear avenue to investigate employment options thanks to the updated Post Study Work Visa regulations.<\/p>\n

The policy improvements are unquestionably a positive step, but it is impossible to ignore the significant number of visa rejections. The high rejection rates are a significant problem and a significant obstacle for many Indian students. One would undoubtedly reconsider studying abroad given the high rejection rates.<\/p>\n

It should come as no surprise that there are difficulties, but New Zealand is expected to solidify its standing as a top choice for overseas students as a result of the modifications to the visa regulations. It’s also critical to remember that other nations, such as the US and the UK, are actively tightening their immigration laws.<\/p>\n
